Setpoint K9 offers a comprehensive range of specialized courses designed to prepare officers for critical incidents. These courses include Patrol Officer Response to Active Shooters, Patrol Counter-Ambush, Basic Shield Operator for Patrol, High-Risk Traffic Stops, and Hostage Barricade training for both SWAT and Patrol Officers. Additionally, Setpoint K9 provides Tactical Medical training, including CIFA (Critical Incident First Aid for Agencies), Self Aid Buddy Aid (SABA), and TaC-MED (Tactical Combat Casualty Care). Our programs also cover Response to Mass Casualties, ensuring agencies are equipped to handle a wide range of emergency situations effectively and safely.
Setpoint K9's trainers bring a wealth of experience from both military and civilian law enforcement backgrounds, having successfully deployed K9s in tactical operations across a wide range of environments. Our law enforcement team has actively worked with K9s alongside tactical teams in regional multi-agency units and major metropolitan police departments. On the military side, our trainers have handled K9s for Tier 1 Units during the Global War on Terror, bringing unparalleled expertise to every operation. We specialize in training agencies on how to seamlessly integrate K9s into high-risk service teams, ensuring they are fully prepared for the complex challenges these teams face.
Our Hostage Rescue Course is specifically designed to address the unique challenges of responding to hostage barricade situations and open-air assaults for the safe recovery of hostages. This intensive three-day course focuses on the critical skills needed to resolve these high-risk scenarios. It includes a specialized firearms block on hostage-taker shot placement, as well as tactical training on room clearing and executing the final assault for hostage recovery. Participants will gain hands-on experience with real-world tactics, ensuring they are fully prepared for any hostage rescue operation, whether in a confined space or an open environment.
We work closely with department and tactical supervisors to design customized scenarios that challenge and develop tactical teams. Using a diverse range of props, force-on-force marking weapons, sound effects, and costumed role players, we create highly realistic environments tailored to the specific jurisdiction of the agency. Our scenarios can vary in scale, from smaller, situational exercises with multiple repetitions to large-scale, full-scale operations involving hostage barricades or major critical incidents. These large-scale events require the entire agency to work in coordination with the tactical team, providing an immersive training experience that prepares responders for the complexities of real-world situations.
