Chris heslop

Chris is a U.S. Army Veteran (Ranger qualified). He is the head K-9 trainer for the Canton Police Department (Ohio) and is currently on his 28th year at the department holding assignments with patrol, SWAT, and as a department instructor in firearms and tactics holding multiple state trainer certifications. Chris has 17 years of experience in K-9, working two dual purpose K-9s (patrol/explosives) and also as a trainer. He is the president and head trainer of the Police K-9 Association (PK9A). PK9A is comprised of 35-45 K-9 Teams at any given time- from various sheriff and police departments located in Eastern Ohio. He is a K-9 Evaluator for the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and the State of Ohio. Chris has a strong background in tactics-including patrol and SWAT tactics vehicle stops, room clearing, and taser instruction along with K-9 expertise in K-9 development, deployment, unit leadership and policy
